Well, now that I have this set up, I need to stop procrastinating and get you up to date on our spring and summer. And yes, it is definitely summer here! Over 90 degrees Fahrenheit the last two days! So without further ado, let's get the show on the road and get you some pictures! (Every time I say that phrase I think back to the Country Cookin' Cookin' School skit Momma and I did back when I was like 13 years old or so!)
Going Back to the End of March-
Matthew and I house and doggie sat for David and Lauren for a few days. City life was fun to experience, but not where I'd want to live! It was fun walking and taking care of the dogs :)

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="402"] David and Lauren's Pacific Street House. David and Jennifer live next door.[/caption]
[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="456"] Walking around downtown we came across this box truck converted to stage and living for this talented traveling musician. Apparently he has been all over the U.S. singing and playing popular for songs for people.[/caption]
[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="333"] My perspective for several days! Great to have a change of pace and fun to get to know Tessa and Cody.[/caption]
[caption id="" align="alignright" width="269"] Since I was 30 minutes closer to Santa Maria, I made plans with Ashley Graves, Jennifer's sister-in-law, and go to Joann's Fabrics! She has been a huge help to me with my Etsy store, but we both wanted to get to know each other outside of the Etsy world. It was really good for me to hear her history and see her faith in God. Her story really made an impact on me that I'm very thankful for. I don't mean to be dramatic, but it was eye opening and life changing for me! After doing some shopping, I grabbed some special chips from Trader Joe's for the drive back to SLO. (That is said 'slow' FYI, not S-L-O."[/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] (Read the next one first...)That week I found out that I had had bronchitis for several weeks. I was really tired and curled up on a blanket in the warm sand and slept for a long time! Felt wonderful[/caption]
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="525"] Saturday we went to the bluffs north of Cayucos and found this sheltered, unpopulated cove. It has taken awhile, but I think I'm beginning to fall in love with California's beaches and water![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="545"] Another walk up Terrace. Probably was Saturday morning since my handsome man is with me :)[/caption]
So I have heard about segways but don't think I'd seen them used by the general public. I was rather fascinated watching these people and many other tourists in SLO. Funny, because I'm used to tourists in NL, but they are different out here!
[caption id="" align="alignright" width="640"] At a Sunday evening gathering at Uncle Jim and Aunt Carol's, I followed my nose to this field of lupins! They are quite different from NL lupins, but I was very happy to see them![/caption]
[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="437"] Hailey is growing up! She walks everywhere by herself now, though she loves to hold onto a finger of whoever is willing, or insists if you are unwilling![/caption]
[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="354"] I got to babysit Bodie one for a few hours. He slept most of the time and so I stayed a little while after Coral got back so we could play. Doesn't this look like Calvin? At least there is no Hobbes :)[/caption]
[caption id="" align="alignright" width="252"] Soooo, long story with a stupid ending. I hurt my foot after playing a great game of Ultimate Frisbee in the rain. Shoes hurt so I tried walking barefoot. Felt great, so I tried running barefoot... all the way around Atascadero lake... over 1 mile... and this is what happened! Live and learn I guess :)[/caption]
A few people helped Uncle Jerry and Aunt Polly at a big yard sale. I came across this book and Uncle Jerry told me I should take it to read it. "The first page is the most important," he said, so I opened it up and found this (Below)
Eye roll, hahah! He got several people with it and then a lady thought it was so funny she just had to buy it to show her husband.
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] One Sunday morning there was a special meeting for men only. Some of us girls went for a beach walk. It was a beautiful morning! Thanks again for going with me everyone![/caption]
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Morro Rock. Isn't that just lovely?[/caption]
I think I'm going to sign off this post so it doesn't get too long and honestly I'm getting frustrated with this just as I was with BlogSpot :( Oh well, maybe I can learn a better way to do this on here!
